Amàre Opens Its First Americas Resort in Cancún Under Hilton's Curio Collection

Amàre has made its Americas debut with a 429-suite, adults-only all-inclusive resort in Cancún. The property opened October 31, 2026, according to Hilton's November 2 announcement, becoming the city's first Curio Collection by Hilton hotel.

A move beyond Spain

Amàre Cancún Adults Only All-Inclusive Resort, Curio by Hilton is both the brand's first all-inclusive and its first location outside Spain. It also marks the first international hotel for its owner and operator, the family-owned Spanish company Fuerte Group. Amàre's existing adults-only hotels on Spain's Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts include Amàre Marbella, Amàre Ibiza and Amàre Sancti Petri.

The opening follows the conversion of the former Breathless Cancun resort. Before the property joined Curio Collection by Hilton, brand integration work included updates to selected public spaces and food and beverage offerings.

Located at Km 4.5 on Boulevard Kukulcán, the resort sits at the northern entrance to Cancún's Hotel Zone. Cancún International Airport is about 30 minutes, or roughly 24 km, away and has nonstop service from U.S. cities including New York, Dallas and Miami. According to Hilton, natural currents in the property's protected bay keep the water calm, clear and largely free of sargassum for most of the year.

The resort's design draws on Mediterranean culture and its Caribbean surroundings, with food, wellness, music and art forming part of the guest experience.

General Manager Santiago Gonzalez said: "Amàre Cancún marks an exciting new chapter for Amàre and an opportunity to bring our approach to hospitality to Mexico through the lens of the unique energy and culture of Cancún. We want our guests to experience a resort that feels social yet unhurried, where gastronomy, wellness, music and meaningful moments come together naturally throughout the day."

Restaurants, bars and additional-charge dining

Michelin-starred chefs Mauricio Giovanini and Jordi Cantó lead the culinary program. Giovanini, Michelin-starred at Restaurante Messina in Marbella, brings HAYACA's combination of Latin American and Mediterranean cooking to a permanent location for the first time. The concept previously operated as a summer pop-up at Amàre Marbella and Amàre Ibiza.

Cantó, who holds a Michelin star and a Repsol Sun at Sa Clastra, developed the Italian-inspired VITA and French-inspired BLANC, along with LA CAVA's menu. Other dining options include MARE NOSTRUM, BREEZE and EMBER.

On the 29th floor, Japanese restaurant SAORI has a sushi bar led by Carlos Navarro, a top-five World Sushi Cup finisher, and houses the TEPPAN teppanyaki experience. Despite the resort's all-inclusive format, TEPPAN and LA CAVA carry an additional charge.

The beverage program brings together several specialists. Salmon Guru co-founder Diego Cabrera, a World's 50 Best Bars honoree, oversees cocktails; Mezcal World Ambassador Elisa Villarreal leads the mezcal and tequila program; and fifth-generation sommelier Meritxell Falgueras selects the wines. Mexican cuisine expert Paloma Ortiz guides the resort's Mexican culinary program.

Spanish Barista Champion Adrián Fernández developed the coffee menu at RITUAL, which stays open around the clock for specialty coffee, light bites and grab-and-go food. The other bars and lounges include BELVUE, GLIDE, SHIMMER, MERIDIAN and AMÀRE LOUNGE.

Pools, wellness and The One suites

Two rooftop areas offer infinity pools, swim-up bars and grills. At the SPA by Germaine de Capuccini, facilities include nine treatment rooms, a bridal suite, a hammam, a sauna and a steam room. Guests can also use the 24-hour Amàre Gym by Life Fitness or attend yoga and meditation sessions.

The One service category applies to 111 suites on the beachfront and upper floors. Guests in these suites receive dedicated check-in, additional in-suite amenities and priority reservations for restaurants and venues, as well as access to THE ONE Lounge and the Belvue Rooftop.

Music, art and event venues

DJ Anna Tur directs the Amàre Music concept. Resident DJs play throughout the day, with sessions by the pools and in the evening. Contemporary art installations are displayed in public spaces and rotate as collections change.

For weddings, meetings, private events and other gatherings, the resort offers more than 10,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space. Options range from a ballroom, theater and breakout rooms to terraces and rooftop venues.

Part of Hilton's regional expansion

The opening adds to Curio Collection by Hilton's portfolio of more than 200 individually branded hotels worldwide. In July 2026, Hilton reported that the collection had 25 operating properties across the Caribbean and Latin America, with plans to double that regional presence in the coming years.

Hilton linked the Cancún addition to its broader expansion across the Caribbean and Latin America. In its July announcement, the company reported more than 300 hotels across 35 countries and territories, with another 150 properties in its development pipeline. Its Mexico portfolio included more than 100 operating hotels and nearly 50 in development.

Sylvia Scholey, Hilton's vice president and global head of All-Inclusive and Resorts, said: "As we continue to grow Hilton's All-Inclusive portfolio, from family-friendly resorts to adults-only experiences, and from lifestyle to luxury, Amàre Cancún Adults Only All-Inclusive Resort, Curio by Hilton brings a distinctive adults-only experience rooted in Mediterranean culture, design and a true passion for hospitality to Cancún."

Reservations are available through Amàre Hotels and Hilton. The resort also participates in Hilton Honors.
