BRANDT Acquires Mexico's Altiara to Expand Latin American Operations

BRANDT has purchased all shares of Agrícola Innovación, S.A. de C.V., the Mexican agricultural products company known as Altiara. The Tampa, Florida-based manufacturer and U.S. agricultural retailer announced the acquisition in an October 5, 2026, press release issued from Tampa. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Mexican manufacturing and regional markets

The deal is expected to give BRANDT additional manufacturing capacity and a broader customer base in Latin America, along with greater access to markets for organic and biological agricultural products.

BRANDT President and CEO Rick Brandt said the acquisition would allow the company to make its products in Mexico and ship them throughout Latin America. He expects significant efficiencies in serving Central America and the Caribbean. "This is just another way to better serve our customers," he said.

Founded in 2000 and based in Mexico City and Pachuca, Altiara makes, distributes and sells products for crop nutrition, protection and biostimulation. Its range includes specialty nutrition products, OMRI-listed bio-solutions, plant protection products and agricultural adjuvants. The portfolio spans organic, biorational and conventional solutions, with distribution concentrated in Mexico and Central America.

Mauricio Andrião, vice president of BRANDT International, said the company had identified Mexico as a primary growth country the previous year, citing its agricultural sector, compatibility with BRANDT's high-technology products and overall potential. He said Altiara's team, products and values-based approach reinforced BRANDT's interest when the acquisition opportunity arose.

Earlier steps in international expansion

Altiara joins an international business built through earlier partnerships and acquisitions. According to BRANDT Europe, BRANDT formed a joint venture with Spain-based Fertinyect, S.A. in 2014 for tree-injection products. Its 2015 purchase of Target Brasil Fertilizantes Ltda. in Brazil gave it its first overseas factory. In July 2016, BRANDT bought the assets of Tragusa, which became BRANDT Europe.

An August 2025 report by iGrow News said BRANDT's products were sold in more than 85 countries and that the company had manufacturing operations in Brazil, Spain and South Africa.

Staff retention, leadership and relaunch

BRANDT plans to retain every Altiara employee. The acquired business will become part of BRANDT International under Andrião, with Altiara's leaders reporting to the corresponding functional leaders at BRANDT.

Former Altiara CEO Francisco Ortiz will remain as managing director of Mexico integration. Ortiz said Altiara had sought a partner that shared its values, focused closely on customers and had the resources to invest in growth. "That's BRANDT," he said.

According to iGrow News, Andrião joined BRANDT as vice president effective September 1, 2025, and chairs its newly formed International Board of Managers. He previously spent nearly 20 years in the biologicals and specialty fertilizer industry, primarily at Stoller, now part of Corteva.

The business will take the name "Altiara, A BRANDT Company." BRANDT's press release says the rebranded company is scheduled to be relaunched at the Expo AgroAlimentaria Guanajuato tradeshow on November 10–13, 2026. Altiara will exhibit at booths 642 and 644.
